Your bank is yours
Our promise, in plain English. The same words belong in your school’s data agreement.
Only teachers at your school see your school's questions. Not other schools, not Photon students, not the public.
Photon staff can't open your bank. Only if your school admin turns on support access, for a set number of days. Every view is logged and visible to the school admin.
Your questions are never reused: never copied into Photon's bank, never shared or sold, never used for AI for anyone else.
Your school can download everything, or delete it, at any time. Deleted items can be restored for 30 days, then they are erased.
Private worksheets. Your worksheets are private to you unless you share them with your department.
Honest small print: a very small number of Photon engineers can technically reach the database for maintenance and emergencies, as with any cloud service; they are bound by contract not to view school content, and any such access would be reported.
Support is your school’s choice
Support access is off by default. Only your school admin can switch it on, for 1, 3, 7 or 14 days, with an optional reason. It expires automatically and can be turned off sooner. Photon support has read-only access; every view is logged. Everyone at your school sees a banner while access is on.
Download your school bank
Your school admin can download a .zip built in the browser: question and markscheme LaTeX, metadata (including drafts), shared worksheets and the exporter’s own private worksheets, cover templates, branding and private diagrams. Other teachers’ private worksheets are excluded.
AI and imported questions
Photo and PDF imports use Photo pages. Make another, Rewrite and Write a markscheme share AI credits. Your school’s questions and images are sent privately to our AI provider only to process your request and are not used to train AI. You check and approve drafts before they enter your bank. Photon deletes rejected images within a day, abandoned drafts after 30 days, and approved images with the question.
Restore or erase
Deleted items can be restored for 30 days. After that they and their private assets are erased by a daily purge. The backup retention window is to be confirmed. Ending your entire school account is a Photon-assisted step.
An access log your school can check
Your school admin can read and download the log of support views, exports, deletions, settings and team changes. It is append-only and kept for the life of your school account.
